WHAT'S NEW
During the past twelve months pilot projects have been started in:
South Wales - 30 schools have introduced Sensory Mathematics and Developmental Games. Early results show some remarkable development in children in children's learning.
Solihull - eight schools have taken a story grammar and party graphics and the results are being monitored by the local authorities by the Education psychological service. Once again early indications are showing excellent progress by the children following the programme's. The teachers report some innovative implementations and their enjoyment of the teaching process.
Birmingham City University. The University is in the process of setting up a research and development project to study the effects of the Mathematics programme's of Key to Learning on early years children. This study will start in September and schools have started to volunteer for this project.
Ontario Canada - We are currently talking to an organisation with the possibility of introducing Key to Learning programmes to five centres in Ontario.
Far East
Talks have started to present Key to Learning in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia - all with a view to implementation in 2010. See article about Galina Dolya at the International Conference on Thinking in Kuala Lumpur.
